When selling a product online, it's hard to do so without a good web design, and if you don't have a website, forgot about competing. Web design and service is what sets e-businesses apart, and what's the first thing people see when they go to a website? The design! That's why it's important to make sure your e-business site is attractive, else face rejection from potential customers. The best way to show off your product is to incorporate it directly into the design. Display it multiple times throughout the site, and under each image, a snippet of information. Many people today don't sell physical items; they sell software or services. When selling software, many companies use 3D programs to render a box portraying their software. While that technique doesn't work well for services, it makes the product seem more real to the customer. A good web design not only exhibits a product in a unique and interesting way, but explains its benefits fast. An old phrase states to save the best for last, but that's not so on the web. Online, people are always moving, and you have to capture them as quickly as possible. Use your best points about the product on the top of the page, and get people interested right from the beginning of their visit. Besides just showcasing your product, having a good design does something else too: It makes you look more professional. There are some sites that are just blocks of text describing the business, and one image. Rare as it is, sites that are one or two steps above that usually still don't cut it. Maybe fifteen years ago, when the Internet was a mystery and anything was amazing, a business like that could make it, but not now, when people expect so much.
Some people will just purchase something from a site because they look so good, and many scam businesses out there get so much just because they look legitimate. This shows just how much a good design can do for your business, and although it can be a little expensive, in the long run it pays off. |
