Apart from social bookmarking sites though there have also been some other methods opening up for webmasters that I'd like to talk about. Squidoo Lenses and Hubpages are two methods of building links to your site that have been ranking very well. Many people have used Squidoo lenses and Hubpages to rank for keywords without much competition and they do very well. Squidoo and Hubpages are both high ranking sites where you can create webpage's on for free on any topic that you want. This mean you can create a page about your website and then fill it up with your links so that you gain links. Over time these pages are known to rank well in the search engines and there also known for increasing in page rank. If you have a few of these pages and they increase page rank then they will generally boost the page rank of your site which will help you rank better in the search engines.

There are more techniques opening up for webmasters to utilize all the time for building links to their site and since link building is such a vital aspect to every site I'm sure we'll continue seeing more options opening up. If new webmasters can begin to use the new techniques then I can see the search engines ranking those sites very nicely and you could begin seeing less aged sites hitting the top pages of Google on popular terms.
