SEO
is the single most important thing to do for your website, and you'll never
stop optimizing your site until you either shut it down or sell it. Well the
only other reason would be to let it sit, but then you're not taking the full
advantage of the site and should most likely just sell it on to another
webmaster. Search engine optimization happens on the site and off the site and
there are hundreds of different methods to work on your search engine
optimization. The reason everyone works on their sites SEO is so that they can rise up in the search engine rankings for their keywords. At first you should focus on only a couple keywords but as your site starts ranking for the first couple keywords you should have a couple more ready to begin ranking. This is why SEO is never ending because once you have good placement for one keyword there is always other keywords to rank for, and you'll also need to maintain the initial rankings, so as you can see keeping up with SEO is difficult. The more searched your keywords are will generally reflect the amount of competition for the keywords and when there is a lot competition it will take constant work to maintain the positions on the keyword. If you find keywords with little competition then it's simple to rank on the first page for that given keyword and it could bring in lots of traffic without the need to ever worry about maintaining the keyword unless more competition starts appearing. The best keywords to target are misspelled versions of popular keywords, and there are lots of them that receive tons of traffic. A lot of people when searching the search engines will make a typo without noticing and click enter, now instead of it saying you used incorrect spelling it will still pop-up with results. It also will let you know that you misspelled the word, but most people don't notice that and continue to the pages that appear. Now a lot of times you can find keywords getting search engine traffic with misspellings in them and if you target them it's easy to rank because most of the time there are only a handful of other pages ranking for the term. I've done some research in the past for some of my own blogs on whether or not there were some misspellings worth targeting and I found some that were getting 100+ searches daily with one letter misspelled in the original phrase. Now if I looked at the search engines I could tell that there was a lot of competition for the phrase spelled correctly, but when I searched for the misspelled phrase there were only six other pages ranking for it.Now with over 100 searches daily and only six sites ranking for the term it was clear that was a term to optimize for with a couple quick articles. I easily got first for the keyword after a couple days and then I started getting more search engine traffic to my blog. The power of misspelled keywords are very critical to adding extra targeted search engine traffic to your site or blog, and for a new site you can really begin earning money quickly by targeting for the misspelled keywords. |
